FG commences probe into Oyo jet crash
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) is currently conducting an inquiry into the recent plane crash-landing incident that took place at Ibadan Airport in Oyo State.
In a statement released on Saturday, the NSIB revealed that the aircraft was en route from Abuja to Ibadan when it crash-landed at Ibadan Airport. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the incident, and all passengers and crew members on board the aircraft were safely evacuated.
The official statement from the NSIB reads as follows: “The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has initiated an investigation into an accident involving an HS 125 aircraft with Nationality and Registration Marks 5N-AMM, which is owned by Flint Aero. The incident occurred at approximately 08:21 pm (Local Time) on November 3, 2023.”
“The aircraft, carrying 10 passengers and 3 crew members, was en route to Ibadan from Abuja. During its final approach for landing on Runway 22 at Ibadan Airport, the aircraft crash-landed short of the runway. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.”
As previously reported by PoliticsNow, the aircraft was carrying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and some of his aides. The flight, which departed from Abuja Airport at approximately 6:41 pm, crash-landed in a nearby area close to the runway at Ibadan’s Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport around 7:21 pm.
