Mr. Babatunde Fashola, the former Minister of Works and Housing, has refuted claims that he has been involved in writing the ruling for the judges of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
Refuting allegations of his involvement in writing rulings for judges of the presidential election tribunal, Hakeem Bello, Fashola’s Special Adviser on Media, issued a press statement advising the public to ignore the claims.
Fashola responded to the accusation by stating that the charges are completely baseless because he has been away from Abuja for a considerable amount of time.
He branded the people responsible for these troubling accusations as agents of destabilization.
The former governor also said that he had started the legal petition-filing process with the National Communications Commission (NCC) and the management of the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter) in response to the insulting tweets and online stories.
He encouraged the appropriate security services to take this matter extremely seriously because it undermines judicial independence.
