Mallam Nuhu Ribadu was appointed the new National Security Adviser (NSA) by President Tinubu on Monday, June 19. His appointment came days after he was appointed Special Adviser to the President on Security.

  1. He was born November 21, 1960, in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State.
  2. He acquired his law degree at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1983 after which he went to the Nigerian Law School and was called to bar in 1984.
  3. He joined the Nigeria Police Force after his NYSC in 1986 and rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police in 2007.
  4. He was the presidential candidate for the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2011 General Elections.
  5. He was the Chairman of the Petroleum Special Revenue Task Force from 2012 to 2014.
  6. He also served as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from 2003-2007.
  7. He was PDP’s Adamawa Governorship candidate in 2015 and lost to the APC candidate, Jibril Bindow.
