Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has called for further investigation to unearth how Mmesoma Ejikeme, the student accused of falsifying her UTME result obtained the 362 scores that she has been parading.
Her comments came after the student made a fresh revelation regarding her UTME score.
The student during an interview with Channels TV on Wednesday insisted that she printed the result she has been parading from the JAMB server. She, however, said that she later saw the 242 which JAMB claimed to be her original score.
However, while reacting to the latest development, the former Education Minister urged Nigerians to see the development as an opportunity to learn
“Sadly, as is usually the case these days in our country, we’ll risk wasting this opportunity as a learning moment by resorting to acrimonious shouts,” she said.
“Listening to the young woman in this interview with @channelstv, it should be clear to any reasonable person who cares about Exam Integrity in Nigeria, that more needs to be done to unearth how she obtained the 362-score result which @JAMBHQ disavowed. The Public needs to know these facts through an Independent Technology Investigation,” she added.
Already, the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has set up an eight-member committee to investigate the alleged forgery saga.
The committee consists of six Professors, one Rev. Sister and another member of the State.
The members are Prof Nkemdilim Nnonyelu as Chairman; Prof Mercy Okonkwo, Prof Ngozi Chuma- Udeh, Prof Maduabuchi Dukor and Prof Jaja Nwanegbo.
Other members are Rev Sr, Prof Mary-Felicia Opara. Rev Cannon Dr Uxhenna Umeifekwem and and Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata.
