Former deputy governor of Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi, has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November governorship election.
He polled 264 votes at the party primary.
His closet rival, a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, got 157 votes.
The primary election was contested by Agboola Ajayi, a former Commissioner for Environment, Chief Olusola Ebiseni, a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, a former Commissioner for Information, John Mafo, Adeolu Akinwumi, Bamidele Akingboye and Bosun Arebuwa.
There were 627 delegates from 203 Wards were selected to pick the PDP flagbearer ahead of the November 16 election.
The election was conducted by a seven-man Committee headed by the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
