Ex-Minister Pantami’s friend  offers to pay remaining N50m for release of surviving five Abuja siblings held by terrorists 

 

Bashir Ahmad, the former social media aide to then President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that a friend of ex Communication Minister, Isa Ali Pantami has offered to pay N50 million to meet up the N60 million placed for the release of the kidnapped Abuja sisters.

 

Recall that terrorists on January 2, abducted six sisters and their father in Abuja. The father was later released following the payment of N60 million ransom. 

 

The terrorists then placed a N60 million bounty for the release of the remaining captors with a deadline fixed. 

 

After the deadline passed on Saturday, the terrorists reportedly killed one of the sisters – Nabeeha. Her death sparked outrage on social media with netizens began fundraising N60 million towards paying for the release of the ladies. As of Sunday, only N10 million was raised. 

 

In a post on X, Bashir Ahmed has revealed that Pantami intervened and through him, one of his unnamed friends offered to add N50 million to the ransom contribution to pay the N60 million. 

 

He said: “Following an intervention by Sheikh @ProfIsaPantami, one of his friends has generously agreed to offer the remaining 50 million Naira out of the 60 million required to ensure the immediate release of our sister Najeebah and her four siblings from their captors. Thank you Akramakallah!”
