The former campaign spokesman of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, has alleged that a plot is in the works to have him arrested on trumped up charges.
In a post on X Bwala said those plotting his arrest are the new landlords of Aso Rock who are uncomfortable with his views about the government.
He posted on Monday: “Last night I got a credible intelligence that some key people around the seat of power (Presidential Aso Villa) of this government are planning to use security agencie(s) to arrest me and take me into custody on a trumped-up allegations in other to rubbish me and silence me. That I am making them and the government uncomfortable. Let the world.”
Bwala, who tagged the White House, the British Parliament, Vice President Kashim Shettima and several media outlets in the post, added: “Know today that I have always known that from my stands on the same faith ticket which led to my leaving APC, and consequent posture as a political opposition, it might irk the deep state and come with persecution for what i believe in and stand for. If anything happens to me, let the world know today of their evil plans.”
Bwala had been a staunch supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) until the party settled for a Muslim-Muslim ticket. He then ditched the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and thereafter served as its campaign spokesman during the 2023 presidential election campaign.
