The National leader of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, has shocked even his followers with a claim that the recent hike in the price of petrol was the handiwork of those against Muslim Muslim ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress during the 2023 election.
The Muslim-Muslim ticket of President Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima was controversial in the 2023 election because both men are of the same faith. Representations of Christians and Muslims in elective offices have always been the norm.
Yahaya Jingir, who was among the backers of the Muslim Muslim ticket, made a wild claim during an event of JIBWIS in Jos at the weekend.
Speaking in Hausa to an unenthusiastic crowd, Jingir backed his claim of a conspiracy against Muslim Muslim ticket with the claim that the petrol increment was announced when Tinubu was out of the country. Jingir also claimed that Vice President Kashim Shettima was also not notified about the increment.
Jingir told his audience that they should continue to defend the Muslim-Muslim ticket because they are doing it for God not because of Tinubu.
On X, netizens have given the Sheikh a tackle.
