Maye Musk, the mother of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has hailed her son over his support for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
Maye Musk said she was happy that her son’s contribution to the election was being appreciated.
She said: “So proud of @elonmusk being appreciated for his contribution to the USA. His goal is to prevent American bankruptcy. Vote! ❤️🇺🇸. By the way, I posted this on Instagram and expected an avalanche of hate. Instead, I only got 20% hate. However, the negative comments are very malicious. So happy I’m no longer a Democrat. I don’t want to be friends with nasty people.”
She had earlier urged female voters to think for themselves and vote for Trump during a recent appearance on Fox News.
Maye, who is the 76-year-old warned women against being “brainwashed” in voting against Trump. Her comment comes amid poll showing an enormous gender gap between Harris and Trump, with women supporting Harris by a 16-point margin (57%-41%) and men backing Trump by 18 points (58%-40%).
