The world’s richest man Elon Musk will interview Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on the X social media network by 8 p.m. Eastern Time (Monday) or 1 am (Tuesday) Nigerian time.
The interview could provide the former president an opportunity to seize the limelight at a time when Kamala Harris’s campaign is seen gaining momentum over Trump.
A major new poll puts Harris ahead of Trump in three key swing states, signalling a dramatic reversal in momentum for the Democratic Party with three months to go until the election.
The vice-president leads the ex-president by four percentage points in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, 50% to 46%, among almost 2,000 likely voters across the three states, according to new surveys by the New York Times and Siena College.
Musk said the interview will be unscripted, pledging to take questions from the audience.
He posted, “This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining! If you have specific questions & comments, post them under the chat,” he said.
