The All Progressives Congress has debunked claims that President Bola Tinubu placed a call through to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola in a bid to manipulate the outcome of the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
In a statement seen by PoliticisNow on Wednesday, the ruling party insisted that reports making the rounds where Jackson Ude alleged that the president made a phone call to the CJN on matters relating to the ongoing presidential election petition were false.
The All Progressives Congress slammed as ‘malicious and purposefully misleading tweet’ by one Mr Jackson Ude, who claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu spoke on the phone with Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, regarding the ongoing Presidential Election tribunal.
According to the statement, “President Tinubu and the APC won the February 25 2023 Presidential election without a doubt, and do not have any need to engage in side conversations with the CJN regarding pending petitions before the PEPC.”
In the statement, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, claimed that Mr. Ude made up a lie about a significant topic of national importance that the Presidential Election Petitions Court is actively reviewing.
The APC expressed confidence that Nigerians are intelligent and discerning enough not to be swayed by the opposition’s tacky and vulgar mercenary campaign.
Recall that supporters of the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party have slammed the president and ruling party for suggesting that misinterpretation of the law by the PEPT could lead to anarchy and chaos.
