El-Rufai’s wife, Hadiza, got finger burnt trying to correct Rufai Oseni’s grammar

Hadi Isma El-Rufai, Wife of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, became the butt of social media banter when she tried to correct the English Grammar of Arise News Anchor, Rufai Oseni.

Oseni, viewed as a hater of the ruling party by some pro-government supporters, tweeted how to grow the Nigeria auto industry.

The tweet contained some misplaced punctuations, which El-Rufai’s wife pointed out in what appears to be an attempt at sarcasm. But the flurry of reactions that follow were negative against the former first lady of Kaduna State.

Rufai, tweeting with his handle, @ruffydfire, said: “To boost made in Nigeria cars. The presidential fleet must be only made in Nigeria cars. The Chancellor of Germany doesn’t drive a made in Nigeria car, Our leaders must support our own.”

Hadiza replied him: “That first full stop should be a comma, and that last comma should be a full stop. You’re welcome.”

Netizens jumped into the fray, turning the table against Hadiza, whose two children Bashir and Bello El-Rufai, are controversial social media users.

@JakesOlasupo said: “There should be a “block paragraph” or “indented paragraph” between your first sentence and the last sentence.

“You’re welcome.”

@maaziossy said: “So how does misplaced punctuations heal the broken hearts of Southern Kaduna indigenes that lost loved ones?”

@AbRaheemmuhd said: “The fact that his point isn’t your concern shows the kind of person you are. Besides you don’t have to claim Elizabeth to us. Who cares about your English?”

@oc_antoine said: “I wish you will devote this kind of time in correcting two of your wayward sons who often constitute a nuisance on this space rather than correcting errors in grammar & Mechanical Accuracy. Always spend quality time checking out on those kids of yours. They need your time.”

@BoazJrn said: “Instead of acknowledging the importance of the message, she’s concerned about the errors in the writing. 💔”
