Tinubu-and-Elrufai

El-Rufai’s son tells Tinubu in cryptic post that he will lose 2027 re-election

Former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s son, Bashir, has made a cryptic post on social media, saying nobody is too big to be voted out of power by the people.

In the post on X on Wednesday, the younger El-Rufai said an upset could happen in the 2027 general elections without any consequences.

Ex-governor El-Rufai was considered for ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu last year but the Senate blocked it for “security reasons”. He is now facing allegations of misappropriating N423 billion.

Apparently referring to President Tinubu, El-Rufai’s son said in his post that even the IMF and the World Bank will not save the president and his team when the time comes.

He said, “Nobody is too big to be elected out of office by the people. It will happen & wallahi nothing will happen. So forget all these intimidations flying up and down. Let us be patient.

“Even the IMF & World Bank no go save una that time. Political strategist una. That one na for Lagos.”

In another post, Bashir said he didn’t mention any name.

“I didn’t call names o, but due to their guilt, they already know who is being spoken about. Wallahi, none of you will force anyone to support this utter failure of governance disguised as useless, dangerous ethnocentric political strategy,” he wrote, raising concerns his father may have fallen out with Tinubu.
