El-Rufai visits Aregbesola, Bakare, Atiku

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai,visited three political heavy weights on Sunday, March 9 in what appears to be a strategic engagement ahead 2027 election. The politicians he visited are: former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, cleric Pastor Tunde Bakare and presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar. While he visited Atiku in Abuja, Bakare and Aregbesola were visited in Lagos, although in their various residence.

The visit was disclosed by Muyiwa Adekeye, El-Rufai’s media adviser, in a tweet on Sunday.

“Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare,” Adekeye wrote.

The visit to Atiku was disclosed by Atiku who posted via his X handle that he broke his fast with the former Kaduna Governor in the company of other political gladiators.

The former Kaduna governor’s visit to Lagos has fueled fresh conversations about his political future and possible strategic alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

Aregbesola, a former two-term governor of Osun State and a former ally of President Bola Tinubu recently left the All Progressives Congress after a protracted crisis within the party in Osun State.

Bakare, on the other hand, is a known political voice and a former presidential aspirant under the APC.
