Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has thrown an indirect punch at his successor, Uba Sani for the first time since the beginning of a cold war between the two former friends.
El-Rufai has been locked in a battle of political survival with his successor via the proxy of Kaduna State House of Assembly on allegation of squandering N432 billion loan.
Uba Sani had said during a town hall that he inherited a huge debt burden of $587 million, N85 billion and 115 contractual liabilities from the immediate past administration of Nasir El-Rufai, lamenting that the huge debt has eaten deep into the state’s federal allocation.
The Kaduna State House of Assembly afterwards launched a probe of El-Rufai’s government and indicted the former governor of squandering N432 billion. Although El-Rufai dragged the Assembly to court, he kept mute about Uba Sani who led the cat out of the bag.
But on Wednesday, El-Rufai shared a sarcastic post from an X user @IU_Wakilii against Uba Sani which reads: “They thought we were kidding when we said that in just a few months, Governor Uba Sani had changed Kaduna completely. This is the type of change we are getting from the best Governor in Nigeria 😂.”
Quoting the post, El-Rufai said: “From God we all came, and to Him we shall all return.”
