Actress, Ekene Umenwa could not contain her joy after gospel artiste, Moses Bliss, made a surprise appearance at her wedding to filmmaker, Ifeanyi Ogbodo. In reaction, Umenwa, 33, knelt down to appreciate the 28-year-old gospel artiste. This has caused a storm on social media, with netizens saying she disrespected her husband.
On X, formerly Twitter, @betty_nwabunike said about Umenwa kneeling down to Moses Bliss: “This speaks a lot about her character. Granted she was happy and surprised. But come on let us speak the truth. In a case like that, you should be thanking your husband for making this possible. I’m assuming he was the one that got her the surprise. But then again we all react differently to situations. Maybe I’m wrong maybe it’s just what it is I Meant no disrespect.”
@gizzle_pablo said: “I sure say na she mostly fund this wedding, cos what sort of disregard is this? And the man body language wasn’t even oozing of confidence.”
@LytSkinnedGirl said: “I guess the husband is aware he is her favorite musician, hence the surprise. She would have hugged him or something, but leaving her husband to KNEEL for another Man. That’s crazy.”
@Kotosiafaze said: “This is type of woman that will call a pastor daddy but have no single respect to her husband, she loves the singer so much but the singer didn’t come to your family to pay your bride price. The singer was probably brought to the wedding by the husband and she goes to basically worship the man and left her husband. I hope if her husband does the same thing to a female singer she will be okay with it. Uncultured generation.”
But Umenwa’s husband, Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex, has urged the online ‘amebos’ to shut up.
Taking to his Instagram page Sunday, Alex said: “When God is involved everything becomes rosy. #ekene_umenwa God bless you #deacon_famous, #mosesbliss thank you for surprising my wife. God bless you. Please all of you should close your mouth.”
