Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Olumide Akpata says he is confident of victory after casting his vote at his polling unit in Oredo.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Akpata said he was impressed with the turnout which he described as impressive.
The Labour Party governorship candidate said victory was certain in the election because according to him, the Edo voters are hungry for change.
He said: “I am impressed with the turnout. The people are hungry for change. I am hoping that those who are superintending the process should allow the will of the people to prevail.”
Asked if he was confident of victory, he said: “We’ve got this one.”
While Akpata and his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo have voted, the case is not the same with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and election materials have yet to arrive his polling unit at the time of filing this report.
