The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Edo election, Asue Ighodalo, has faulted the delay in the arrival of election materials at his polling unit and many others believed to be his stronghold.
INEC officials arrived at Ighodalo’s polling unit situated in Idinrio Primary School in Ewohimi, Esan South East local government area of Edo State about 10:30 am.
Ighodalo said the report at his disposal showed most of the polling units in his stronghold also received election materials late. He said the late arrival of election materials at his polling unit is confirmation of the report he received that votes would be suppressed in his stronghold.
He also decried the arrest of his party members by security agencies, querying why police officials would storm polling units with arms against the electoral guidelines prohibiting such.
