The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) says it has filed an appeal last Friday with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Disciplinary Tribunal’s decision, dated 17 August 2023, which cleared Tobi Amusan of doping violation.
Amusan was cleared by the Disciplinary Tribunal on the eve of the World Athletics Championships last month after it struck out two of the three whereabouts failures charge preferred against the Nigerian by the AIU
In a statement from the AIU on Monday on its X handle ( formerly Twitter) , the body stated thus: “The AIU filed an appeal last Friday (15 September 2023) with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Disciplinary Tribunal’s decision, dated 17 August 2023, that Tobi Amusan did not commit an anti-doping rule violation for Whereabouts Failures.”
