Chairman of Silverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce has advised Nigerians against criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders.
Murray-Bruce offered the advise following the viral tik tok video of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who criticised the president over the rising cost of living.
“Those of you on social media, stop criticizing Nigeria online, stop criticizing our Leaders online. We need a break,” he said at the Silverbird Award on Sunday.
The advice by Murray-Bruce has elicited angry reactions from Nigerians.
On X, they bare their minds.
@Faithysia_blunt said: “Can someone help tell @benmurraybruce not to tell Nigerians who can’t afford to feed how to react.”
@SMARTXX231 said: “Rich man go dey tell poor man make e no shout say e dey suffer. Naija go better.”
@ferdicson4u said: “Mr common sense has lost his common sense. What APC cannot do doesn’t exist.”
@justkency said: “Ben Murray Bruce doesn’t want criticism. He wants praises.”
DrTambari said: “What does he mean by ‘stop criticizing our leaders’. Does he understand that what we are doing is to call those holding political and appointed offices to accountability? If we do not do that, how do we ensure checks and balances? Mr Bruce, I disagree with you Sir.”
