Denrele Edun recounts suffering from Bells Palsy

“I had a stroke on half of my face, all my hairstyles covered that side”, Denrele edun said.

Popular crossdresser and media personality, Denrele Edun, has disclosed that he suffered a stroke on his face which affected him.

He said his left eye closed and his face shifted because of the stroke, adding that he had to cover his face with different hairstyles.

Sharing his stroke experience, Denrele Edun stated that he couldn’t breathe well and also could not see clearly because his eye was automatically closed, his right leg went numb and his front hair also went off.

Denrele further revealed that while he was going through that, a friend called him for a movie shoot but because he didn’t want sympathy or share his sickness, he chose to be a part of the production.

But unknown to Denrele, what he suffered is something known as Bell’s Palsy, otherwise known as acute peripheral facial palsy. It is a condition that causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in the face. It causes paralysis on one side of the face, drooping face, headache, loss of taste, increased sensitivity to sound, dry eye and dry mouth.

It can occur at any age. The exact cause is unknown. Experts think it’s caused by swelling and inflammation of the nerve that controls the muscles on one side of the face.
