On Thursday night, Aurelio De Laurentiis, the President of Napoli, successfully underwent surgery on the medial meniscus in his right knee at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome. Napoli officially confirmed the procedure, stating that the 72-year-old arrived at the clinic at 4 pm and was discharged at 8 pm on the same evening. The surgery, performed by Professor Pierpaolo Mariani, was reported as flawless.
This recent operation occurred shortly after De Laurentiis attended the launch of a book by football agent Mario Giuffredi on Wednesday. During the event, he shared thoughts on Italy’s recent victory over Ukraine, securing their spot in Euro 2024, expressing his belief in Ukraine deserving a penalty.
The Napoli chief also discussed past transfer opportunities, disclosing his desire to sign Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti to play alongside Lorenzo Insigne. However, Verratti’s agent insisted on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
De Laurentiis visited the Napoli training ground for two consecutive days this week to oversee the initial sessions under new manager Walter Mazzarri, signaling a shift away from direct involvement in team affairs following the dismissal of the previous coach, Rudi Garcia.
