Davido slams abuja-based barber for calling him “003”

Afrobeat music giant, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, set social media ablaze when he slammed an Abuja-based barber, Callistus Okolie, who is also a fan of Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, for describing him (Davido) as the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry.

Commenting on the photos Davido posted of himself in Dubai on Sunday, the barber wrote, “The only 3rd man in the music industry 003.”

Dissatisfied with Okolie’s description of him, the singer quickly responded by saying: “@kallystouch I have saved your picture. I would have come to Abuja, and you would have cut my hair that is almost finished, but you like social media.”

He added that the barber had missed his “generation’s blessing” because he (Davido) sponsored his last three barbers in opening their salons.

“My last three barbers, I opened shops for them. That is how you missed your generation’s blessing,” he said.

Taking another swipe at Davido on Monday, Okolie, who tweets as @Kallystouch on X, responded with a video of one of his customers he gave a nice haircut, stating that Davido had missed an opportunity to have a haircut from the best barber in the FCT.

He wrote, “Davido just missed the opportunity to have a haircut from the best barber in Abuja.”

In another viral video he posted on X, Okolie blasted Davido for his response. He insisted that for him, Wizkid remains the biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry.

He added that Davido was not his helper and that he was not seeking help from anybody.

He wrote, “FC does not beg, write it down, FC does not beg. Wizkid remains my 001 in the music industry, no cap. I did not say that to hurt anyone or to pull anybody down. Again, there is a statement Davido made that he was coming to Abuja and I would have been his barber, I would have been the person to cut his hair, how?”

He added, “Do you know me before that I would have been your barber? If not for my comment would you have replied to me? Let’s be realistic, do you know me before? You don’t know me before. FC is number one. Apart from that, I’m not begging anybody. Davido is not my helper because whoever will help me will not stress me, Portable has said it before.”

This is the second time in less than a week that the singer would be coming under fire on social media.

Recall that on April 29, 2024, Wizkid set microblogging site, X, on fire when he took swipes at Davido and Don Jazzy.

As a result of the controversial tweet, Wizkid trended as number 4 on Nigeria’s X trends.

During exchanges with his followers, Wizkid mocked Davido for his recently leaked viral video where he was seen on his knees crying and begging someone believed to be a female associate.
