Marlian Records label boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley and music promoter, Samson Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, have been granted bail by a Lagos magistrates’ court.
Part of the bail condition is that the duo will provide three sureties each with N20 million bail bond. The court also directed them to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The presiding magistrate also warned that any attempt to contact her directly would be recorded and disclosed during court proceedings.
They are expected back in court November 21.
The duo were arrested after the police initially declared them wanted over alleged involvement in the controversial death of popular artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Mohbad, aged only 27, rose to prominence with the Marlian Records label. His tunes and unique style quickly garnered him a devoted following. The cause and details surrounding his death have yet to be disclosed after the police carried out an autopsy.
Notable among his chart-topping tracks are ‘Ponmo’, ‘Feel Good’, and the sensational ‘KPK’ (Ko Por Ke), a collaboration with Rexxie.
Meanwhile, Naira Marley and Sam Larry have filed a N40 million breach of fundamental human rights suit before the Igbosere Division of the Lagos High Court.
