The Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has granted an interim injunction restraining pro-Wike Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and 25 other members from parading themselves as legislators.
The interim injunction was filed by the pro-Fubara Speaker Victor Oko Jumbo and three other Assembly members loyal to the state governor.
Oko-Jumbo, the member representing Bonny constituency, was elected new speaker for the entire 32-member Assembly by three members loyal to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalaye Fubara.
The lawmakers are the proxies fighting the battles of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers Governor, Siminalaye Fubara.
The courts have also become a tool for the lawmakers. The gladiators all have rulings and counter rulings that favours their positions.
