PSG and Napoli are in advanced negotiations for the transfer of Victor Osimhen. Luis Campos, PSG’s Sporting Director, and Mauro Manna, Napoli’s Sporting Director, are in constant contact to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties involved.
Napoli’s President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, remains firm in his stance regarding the deal’s terms. Despite this, Napoli has begun exploring replacement options, with Romelu Lukaku emerging as a potential target. This move suggests that Napoli anticipates Osimhen’s imminent departure.
Osimhen’s absence from Wednesday’s training session is noteworthy as well, likely a precautionary measure to prevent any injuries that could jeopardise the transfer. The coming days are expected to be decisive in finalising the deal.
PSG’s pursuit of Osimhen is part of their strategy to bolster their attack for the 2024/2025 season. However, before securing Osimhen, PSG needs to offload a striker. Goncalo Ramos is a potential departure, with Atletico Madrid showing interest following their sale of Alvaro Morata to AC Milan.
If completed, this transfer could be one of the most significant moves of the 2024 summer window. Osimhen’s proven goal-scoring record and his youth make him an attractive prospect for top clubs aiming to compete at the highest levels of domestic and European football.
