Businessman, Abu Salami, vows to fight Davido to the end over alleged N200 million debt

Businessman, Abu Salami, has alleged that ace singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, took over N200 million from him and failed to keep to his own side of the deal.

Salami, who said he runs a football academy, posted on X that about a year ago, he hired Davido to handle promotional activities for a football reality television project.

“I approached David that come and do this business with me. Influence this project. If you influence this project, we stand to make XYZ. I opened up the business plan to him, and he thought this is a lot of money. And it’s a lot of money. Football business is a big business,” he said.

Salami said Davido was supposed to participate in video shoots, press conferences and post contents on social media campaigns.  He, however, claimed that Davido defaulted in all the commitments. Worse still, he claimed Davido failed to refund the more than N200 million paid to him for the job.

Hear him: “Now, it’s been over a year, you (Davido) had opportunity to do your job. You cancelled three shoots. You’ve cancelled two press conferences. You haven’t taken part in any of the screening phase. You haven’t posted this on social media. You haven’t done anything for this project. I have lost money. I have lost sponsorship. And you think you can bully me with your father’s name? Think about it David. Do I look like an illiterate to you?”

Salami vowed to drag Davido until he clears his alleged debt.

This is not the first time Davido is being dragged for taking money for a project and refusing to honour his own part of the deal.

A few weeks ago, former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, said over N80 million was paid to Davido to perform at an event in Warri, but the singer defaulted and has refused to refund the money.
