Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish’s Cheshire home was burgled on Wednesday night while he was playing in City’s English Premier League match against Everton. The raiders targeted Grealish’s house, with family members and fiancée Sasha Atwood present during the break-in. Although unharmed, they detected the intrusion and promptly raised the alarm.
The audacious night-time robbery resulted in the theft of jewelry and watches valued at approximately £1 million. Cheshire Constabulary is actively investigating the incident, which occurred around 9:50 pm on December 27.
Grealish, still available for selection, may play in City’s upcoming match against Sheffield United. City manager Pep Guardiola expressed relief that none of the player’s relatives were physically harmed, emphasizing that “fortunately nothing wrong happened where the family was inside.” As the culprits remain at large, City aims to return to winning ways in the upcoming fixture.
