Former Presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri, claims that the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has refused to clarify if he funded the burial ceremony of the father of ace Arise TV reporter, Oseni Rufai.
The former aide to erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan suggested in a tweet on Wednesday that Mr Obi was trying to use semantics to doge the allegation.
“Mr @PeterObi must think that he can fool all of the people all of the time. I have a Masters in Law and I am not moved by empty sophistry. I asked a question, which Mr Peter Obi has not answered, and has tried to use semantics to dodge,” Omokri wrote.
“My question is this: Did Peter Obi fund the funeral of Mr Rufai Oseni’s father by giving him money in cash or via electronic means, either directly or through a third party, and has that influenced Mr. @ruffydfire’s open bias in favour of Peter Obi, whereby Mr. Oseni use the AriseTV platform as a medium to campaign for and launder the image of Mr Peter Obi, and his undisguised personal animosity towards me for my refusal to support Mr Peter Obi’s Presidential ambition?,” he asked.
His comment comes as Peter Obi on Monday denied claims that he funded the burial ceremony of the Arise TV reporter’s father.
Recall that Omokri had accused Mr Rufai of using his position as a renowned journalist to skew information in favour of Mr Obi.
Mr Omokri further claimed that Obi bribed the Arise TV reporter to distort public information in his favour.
