The House of Representatives have approved the declaration of a state of emergency for Rivers State, along with the six-month suspension of Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy and all elected members of the assembly, as announced by President Bola Tinubu.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abass announced that the sitting was being attended by over 200 members, which was far above the two-third required for the sitting.
