The Kaduna State Governorship Election Tribunal has declared the March 18 poll as inconclusive.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uba Sani, as winner of the keenly contested election with a lead margin of about 10,000 votes.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ashiru Isa Kudan, challenged the declaration of Sani on grounds of alleged widescale rigging.
In a decision on Thursday, the Tribunal declared that the election was inconclusive, and ordered INEC to conduct fresh polls in seven wards across four local governments.
Vanguard Newspaper reported that the tribunal, during its resumed proceeding on Thursday, in a split decision of a ratio of 2:1, declared the election inconclusive and directed that a supplementary election should be held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within 90 days.
The 3-man panel led by Justice Victor Oviawe therefore ordered a rerun of election in 24 polling units in seven wards of four local governments consisting of 16,300 registered voters.
