Spain women’s national football team, La Roja, narrowly edged past their England counterpart to win the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
A goal from Olga Carmona in the 29th minute ensured the Spain ladies defeated the reigning European champions, England.
Spain defeated Sweden 2-1 in the first semi-finals to reach the final of the tournament, while England defeated the host, Australia in the other semi-finals.
