Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has claimed that his recently launched social media application, Bluesky, is not in competition with Twitter.
The former Twitter boss revealed this in a recent tweet after criticising recently established social media platforms that have attempted to compete with Twitter. He called thread by Meta and other recently established social media platforms “Twitter clones.”
Mr. Dorsey wanted to disparage the creators of the social media sites that were recently developed to compete with Elon Musk’s Twitter.
“We wanted flying cars, instead we got 7 Twitter clones,” Mr Dorsey had wrote.
However, the former Twitter CEO was dragged by a social media user who accused him of creating two social media platforms that he claimed were Twitter clones.
Responding to the social media user, the former Twitter CEO wrote: “No. Bluesky and nostr are protocols that Twitter can build upon. Would remove some constraints and burden. Not competitive.”
Recall that Bluesky, an app rumoured to be an alternative to Twitter, was introduced by the former CEO of Twitter in April 2023. But since its debut, there hasn’t been much talk about the platform as the majority of social media users have stuck with the well-known platform Twitter.
Recently, Meta unveiled a brand-new application that is now being considered as a viable rival to Elon Musk’s social media platform.
Many social media users have continued to voice their displeasure with the way Mr. Musk has continued to run the well-known social media platform. Recently, Mr. Musk unveiled a rule that placed restrictions on how many posts users could read each day.
