BBNaija All Stars: Who will take home the N120m prize money?

By Chinyere Ifeka

The time has finally come when our favorite BBNaija All Stars reality television show is coming to an end and when the remaining of our favorite housemates’ battle for the grand prize money of N120 million.

Our top 5 eventually became our top 6 as following last week evictions, we had to say goodbye to Venita and our favorite love birds, Soma and Angel, leaving Adekunle and Pere to join the top 4 housemates as the remaining finalists.

The top 6 housemates now in the chase for the grand prize are Cross, Ilebaye, Cee-c, Mercy, Adekunle and Pere and now we as the audiences can only vote and hope for our favorite to come out and reign supreme as the winner.

Now the main questions in our heads are, who is our winner? Out of the 6 housemates listed above, based on statistics, it is fair to say that there are 3 top contenders with the largest fan bases who have shown and proven their loyalty to keeping their favorite housemates in the Big Brother house, that being Mercy, Cee-c and Ilebaye. So between these three lovely ladies mentioned, who would take the grand prize? Would it be Mercy, a previous winner of the Pepper Dem Gang season who stole the show with her highlights and her mind-game plan? Or would it be Ilebaye the Gen-Z baddie who stole the hearts of her fans due to her boldness in overcoming the bullying and maltreatment from the other housemates? Then there’s Cee-c, who was a runner up in the Double Wahala season with a strong fan base as well.

It is safe to say that fans could pull through for these 3 strong contenders but would it be possible for Mercy Eke to win again? Her confidence seems to be flying off the roof as she desires strongly to win the game for the second time in a row and highly believes in her fan base, the Mercenaries, to pull through for her.

But a previous winner, Whitemoney was evicted from the house and not only that, he had come out with the second lowest votes during the eviction Sunday live show. So what happened to his large fan base that won him the money during his time? And would it be the same fate for Mercy because of the fact that she had won before? Another question that can be asked is if she really did enough this season to win the hearts of Nigerians and be declared the winner.

The same question can be thrown to both Cee-c and Ilebaye. Cee-c has the possible chance of winning once again because she was a runner up in her season and her strong fan base is determined to make sure that she snatches the grand prize this time no matter what.

In Ilebaye’s case, could it be possible that she could take the money? In her previous season, she was among the housemates who left the show early and this season, she had managed to steal the hearts of Nigerians, especially with the whole situation surrounding her during her stay in the house.

Ilebaye had gone through series of indirect bullying and oppression from the housemates, due to an age gap difference and was demanded to ‘give respect to her elders’ and at the same time has been pushed to the wall severally. Her getting two strikes and the housemates several plots to make her get a 3rd strike and get disqualified and so on. We as Nigerians observed this annoying scenario and said ‘well, enough is enough!’ So it is fair to say that Ilebaye may get the chance of winning the season due to what we call ‘pity votes’ which is a similar case to Laycon, Efe and even Whitemoney during their seasons.

But why aren’t the guys strong contenders? Adekunle, Cross and Pere have proven to have played the game in their own ways. Adekunle proved his intelligence and willpower while Pere and Cross did the same. The only difference is earlier this season, Pere had begun with giving us a villain like energy, scheming for ways to get the girls out and ended up with 2 strikes! While Cross was being himself and showing his fit strength in winning as many tasks as he could.

Isn’t this effort enough for the top contenders to win the grand prize? Between the three gentlemen, two have ended up in the finals, that being Adekunle and Pere, meaning they also have a strong loyal fanbase, meanwhile this would be Cross’ first time in the finals.

With the game getting tougher to predict, we can only hope and vote for who would be our All Star winner this season and take home the grand prize and we can only find out our winner this Sunday during the Grand Finale show.
