Barcelona and Granada played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, on Sunday evening. Barcelona first led during an end-to-end encounter but was pegged back and on two occasions had to come from behind to share the points with a resilient Granada side.
The home side started brightly and took an early lead through Lamine Yamal after 14 minutes. However, goals from Ricard Sanchez and on-loan Manchester United winger, Facundo Pellistri, turned the game on its head to give Granada a 2-1 advantage in the hour mark.
Barcelona restored parity shortly after thanks to a Robert Lewandowski strike but were behind once again when Granada captain, Ignasi Miquel, headed home to make it 3-2. Yamal ensured the draw for Barcelona with a fine individual effort 10 minutes from time.
The result leaves third place Barcelona 10 points behind rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga as they suffered another setback in their pursuit of the title. Meanwhile, Granada will be buoyed by their performance as they picked up a hard-earned point on the road.
Both sides contributed to an entertaining spectacle that swung one way and then the other. However, Barcelona boss Xavi, will be concerned by his side’s defensive vulnerabilities as they conceded three times on home soil.
