A new report has placed former Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of Labour Party at the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi and former vice president Atiku Abubakar among the list of most followed Nigerian politicians on Twitter.
Data releases by Statisense on Monday revealed that Atiku emerged as the most followed Nigerian politician on Twitter, with 4.99 million followers.
Mr Buhari emerged as the second most followed Nigerian politician on Twitter with 4.61 million followers. According to Statisense data, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is Nigeria’s third most followed politician with 4.25 million followers.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, who gained more followers after declaring his desire to run for the country’s number one seat on the platform of the Labour Party is now the fourth most followed Nigerian politician, with 3.72 million followers. After amassing more followers In the run-up to the 2023 presidential election, many would expect the candidate with the backing of the Obidient Movement would be the most followed Nigerian politician.
Also making the list of 10 most followed Nigeria politicians include Dino Melaye the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party at the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi state, former Kaduna lawmaker Shehu Sani, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, ex- president Goodluck Jonathan, former Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai and President Bola Tinubu
