Father of Timileyin Ajayi, the gospel singer arrested for killing a corp member in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Salome Adaidu, has pleaded for the release of his son.
Ajayi was found in possession of the severed head of Salome Adaidu in a polythene bag and has been remanded by a Nasarawa State High Court.
The gruesome incident reportedly occurred in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
While the family of Salome continues to grieve, Ajayi’s father is pleading for his release. He made the plea in an interview with Channels Television.
“I want government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released” He said
Unlike the father, the mother said she has left everything for the government to handle.
‘If it was one of my daughters they did that to, how would I feel?” She asked
‘So the government can do anything they want to do. Everything is in their hands,” She concluded
During his interrogation, Ajayi, who also promotes himself as a motivational speaker on TikTok, confessed to committing the crime.
In a now-viral video, the suspect revealed that he had been in a one-year relationship with Adaidu before her death.
He alleged that a heated argument escalated into a violent confrontation during which Adaidu purportedly tried to stab him with a knife.
Ajayi, who gained some recognition after releasing his album God of the Earth in 2020, disclosed that the rest of Adaidu’s body was at his residence.
Adaidu’s remains have since been interred, as captured in a viral video showing a group of men performing the burial while the sounds of mournful weeping could be heard in the background.
