Adeleke, Fintiri, other PDP Governors meet Fubara without Wike
Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have held a meeting with the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
Fubara’s predecessor and estranged godfather, Nyesom Wike, was not at the meeting. It is not clear whether he was not invited or simply decided to stay away.
The meeting was the second held to resolve the political impasse between the two gladiators pulling Rivers in two parts – Wike and Fubara. This is after lawmakers loyal to Wike, set in motion the process of impeaching Fubara.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in whose cabinet Wike serves as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, also waded into the crisis since one of Wike’s foot appears to be in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Among those at the meeting with Fubara included the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde. He hosted the meeting at his Abuja lodge. Others include; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.
Other governors at the meeting include; Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The PDP National Working Committee was also represented at the meeting by the Acting Chairman, Iliya Damagum,
