Abia Election: Ikpeazu congratulates Otti

Following the declaration of declaration of Dr Alex Otti as the winner of the gubernatorial election in Abia State, the State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has congratulated the governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti of the Labour Party, on his victory at the polls.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Governor explained that Dr Otti had fought a long battle over a very long period and deserves commendation for his consistency and resilience.

The Governor also saluted the other candidates who took part in the election, especially the PDP candidate, Sir Okey Ahiwe, for their exercising mutual tolerance and a spirit of sportsmanship.

Governor Ikpeazu noted that his administration will provide the Governor-Elect with the enabling environment for the smooth takeover of the affairs of state further on May 29th, 2023 and advised other candidates not to distract the incoming Governor with court cases.

He promised to put in place every necessary measure to ensure a seamless transition from the present administration to a new administration in the state.

He thanked the people of the State for casting their votes in a very peaceful atmosphere and reminded them that peace remains very critical in the quest for sustainable development and charged citizens to support the incoming governor to enable him to succeed.

Governor Ikpeazu wished the incoming Governor, God’s blessings and guidance while assuring the people of Abia State that he will continue to discharge his duties as Governor until the 29th day of May 2023 when he will hand over to the new Governor.
