Kaduna Governor Uba Sani has assured that the 287 students abducted on Thursday in the state will soon be released as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA) are leaving no stone unturned.
Gunmen on Thursday attacked a school in Kaduna, seizing at least 287 pupils, the second mass abduction less than a week.
Boko Haram insurgents had on Monday struck three Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Ngala town, the headquarters of Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State where the terrorists are most active and abducted dozens of women.
In an update on his X timeline, Governor Ubani Sani who visited the school on Thursday, said he has received assurances of President Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu that the students would be rescued.
He said: “The Kaduna State Government and Security Agencies are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the school children abducted in Kuriga community, Chikun Local Government. I have received strong assurances from the President and National Security Adviser that no stone will be left unturned to bring back the children.”
