The US police have identified a teenage girl as the suspect in the mass shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin on Monday, which left at least two people dead and multiple injured.
According to the New York Times, police named the perpetrator of the horrific attack as 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who was a student at the school. She went by the name ‘Samantha’.
Maddison police said the teenager opened fire in a study hall classroom containing students from several grades, which resulted in the death of a teenage student and a teacher while six other people were injured.
The shooter did not survive too, as she was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital, with evidence suggesting she died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Maddison police chief Shon Barnes said.
However, authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, but they have sealed off a house at Maddison that police believed was connected to the suspect.
“This country has enabled this to happen and will not make it stop,” one neighbour, Anna Keaney, told the New York Times. “And it’s going to be thoughts and prayers and blame and empty promises.”
